Pyarelal Wadali the Sufi singer, youngest of the two noted Sufi singers Wadali Brothers, died on Friday at the age of 75.
Wadali brothers believe in the Sufi tradition deeply. They have never indulged commercially, and they have only a handful of recordings to their name (mostly from live concerts).
They have contributed in Bollywood by rendering Gulzar’s soulful lyrics in the film Pinjar and also in the film Dhoop, a Bollywood war drama film directed by Ashwini Chaudhary. In recent Bollywood films, they sang Aye Rangrez Mere from Tanu Weds Manu and Ik Tu Hi Tu Hi from Mausam.
Not only Bollywood songs but there are renditions of non-Bollywood songs by them that has also mesmerized us.
RIP Pyarelal Wadali the Sufi Singer
